Tire size?

<< < (2/2)

KXcam22:
You can only handle so much width.  The sideknobs of my 120 Kenda Millville (19") barely clear the chain. I guess it depends on the profile of the tire. Cam.

I purchased a Dunlop K739G (four stroke version supposedly harder and lasts about 50% longer than reg) and it lasted me 3 months before I was down to pretty much nothing, infact, when I had the tire mounted at the dealer, they tagged it, and that tag was still on the spoke when changed a month ago. Now, after 3 tires in the past year so far, I have changed to a tire I've installed at least once on every dirtbike to ever own, which is the Kenda Trakmaster 2. I used it on my YZ250 and lasted me 2 years. So, I installed the 120/90-19 version on my KX500. Anyway, it is a DOT tire that you would never believe was street legal and lasts forever cause it is very hard rubber. Anyway,

Gowen;
That sounds like one I will try! Thanks.

I was just at the local shop and looked at they're tires.

I saw 2 that where tagged 120/90/19

One looked like it would fit my bike fine.

And the other looked like it would fit my truck!!!!
(And I have 38" tires on that!)

I didn't look to see what brands they where????

I've had great results with the 120, it has been great and no problems in the corner. So, go figure. It also depends on the tread and side tread for cornering and what have you.
