1/2 or 3/4 turn throttles

I played with something along the lines of what you are saying as a kid. I used a 4 stroke honda tube, something like this

Notice how the cable eye hole is in closer to the handle bar, thats where the slower ratio comes in. I just used a cr housing with it & it did require more turning. I wouldnt recomend it though because you loose that instant wheel loft you come to rely on riding a big bore 500

Absolutely agree!!....what happens when you NEED that split second it takes to re-grip to shut the throttle off to grab the front brake to miss a big ole tree or truck sized boulder :?....could be quite painful.

Rode my KX500 down the street last weekend. No give on the tire and in traffic. I could see getting in trouble pretty fast with it needing a burst of acceleration and pulling the wheel instead. As I am working on putting this one on the street I am looking for a slower throttle to put on. When the tire is stuck down to the asphalt the power of these things really hits home!
