Lighting on a budget
martinfan30:
Hey guys, could I use this 35w lighting coil to run just a headlight? Im looking at procycles DS kit that has a battery to run the other lights and horn.

Trying to do it on a budget, otherwise I'd be getting an MZB stator.
I also read that as long as the 8th digit in the VIN is not a 3 or a C, its easier to get plated.
Goat:
That should do just fine for a headlight. I do believe you'll still need a voltage regulator though. I highly recommend using LED headlights. They draw way less power and are bright. I have 2) 6w 3 LED lights on my KDX Quad which has a 35w light coil and they are excellent. I can see from ditch to ditch and about 100-150 yards in front of me. It's perfect for 65ish mph.
Not sure on the vin digits but I'm sure someone on here would know.

I believe that I have the 65w Moose coil. With 4w LEDs it works well. Im going to try the 6w LEDs next. I run a Acerbis LED drop down taillight on the rear.

Yup that'd work just get a big trailer to tow behind you to haul the battery
