Title: 1999 Kx 250 float help
Post by: myGreen on December 09, 2011, 01:48:32 PM
My bike dies out completely when going down hills. This is with the clutch pulled in or in neutral. On flat ground she idles fairly well, this is only when on an angled surface. Does anyone know the proper float height for this thing? Is there anything special to checking the float on my bike? Thanks in advance! Yes, I know I need a factory service manual, but I'm hoping that I can still find one floating around out on the net somewhere! Hahaha

Hey My G,
Here's one explanation   http://justkdx.dirtrider.net/floatlevel.html

There's an excellent one on All things Moto I will look for.  Here ya go:

Also found a nifty chart with some carb float heights : http://www.carbparts.com/keihin/needles_tuning/jetting_your_carb.htm
