Does anybody have the trouble of their X-Ring chain rubbing the case behind the front sproket? Its a new chain and just does barley touch. Just barley seems too much for me. Is this ok? Dont think service does anything to the front shaft, Do they?

What size sprocket are you running?? 13t sprocket will rub. I have run 14 and 15 without rubbing with an X-ring.

I'm running a 14t, it is just barley rubbing. Any suggestions? hows your gearing with the 15t. I ride motocross, I kinda like the gearing now. 14t 47t

I have had rub issues, to cure it I put a thin shim behind the sprocket, in fact somebody makes one cna't remember who. shim has to be thin or you won'g get the circlip back on, but its enough to keep the chain out of the case

Hey Green,
The chain rub has been more prevalent on running a 13 t sprocket. The best solution to date has been submitted by
Cam 22. Stand by an I'll look for the post.

Cam22 One way to prevent the chain from wearing away the cases is to use a thin washer behind the sprocket to space it away from the case (.080") and then undercut the sprocket face so the circlip will still fit. Is working well.

i was just getting ready to order a 13t cs sprocket to lower my gearing a little. will this cause enough rub to cause real damage to the case or is it more superficial? i currently run a 15-50 set up and need to drop the gearing a bit to properly climb hills on the k5. on the gearing chart i saw oem setup 14-47 isn't much different than 15-50.

I currently have a 13 tooth on mine and it is fine, although there is a spot where a chain has rubbed in the past, it is not rubbing now. My cousin bought an 11 tooth and he filed the flange down smooth to get the chain to clear, his doesn't rub anymore.
