Hello fellow kx riders :-)
I am new on the site (though I must admit I have been a frequent guest) and would just like to say thanks to all of you for making this such a great forum..
I live in Norway and don't ride that often, only for fun and I sure ain't no pro :-D But still love to ride, just wish there was more legal places to do trail/woods riding like you have "over there"
My bike is an old 88 kx500 that i pretty much bought as a puzzle game with half the pieces missing  But it runs great now and gets me from fun to scary in notime.. It isn't a beauty (then again no beasts are) but technically its been getting better with every paycheck.. just overhauled the shock with helpfull instructions found here :-)
Greetings from Norway

Magnus,
nice to have you on board, 88 was a good year, they were well suspended and had huge power.
You'll find most on here to be very helpful

V?lkommen Magnus!
This is the perfect site for us KX riders. I live in south of Sweden. Not that far away.. Hope that we will get better weather with in soon. So that the season could start.

Magnus,
There are more than just a few of us who bring home their bikes in "Puzzle" Boxes.
Glad to have you with us.

Thanks for the welcome everyone!
Swe_K5_8 : how is it getting parts in sweden? The parts i can find are very expensive, and used seems impossible. wonder sometimes if I am the only one here with a K5
anyway, here's a pic of my bike (after a little field trip)

I have no problem with parts. The dealer that I use, is the one that I have used since the 80's. They deliver by mail with out problem. No idea how it is with used parts..

Mud makes everything pretty!

Speaking of puzzles, I bought mine in Idaho. I live in Alaska. I had my Dad pick it up. I check shipping charges and figured it was cheaper to break it down and ship it in a few pieces. Six boxes, 2 weeks and $275 later I was putting together a bike I had never worked on. Got it all together and went for a sweet 60 mile ride. Did not loose a bolt.
Yes, they do look better with some mud on them.
