again I wanted to Thank everyone on this forum for their help, without all of you posting your builds and JFAB rails this would of been alot more difficult. IT took me right at a month to complete my build. I rode it this weekend and man what a blast... Thanks again to everyone ....

If mine turns out half as good, I'd be very proud.

Thanks Guys I really enjoyed it while it was running. Hope to have it back together sometime in june... After the blow up I have bought another 500 to be a doner but this bike is in pretty good shape and since I have alot of extra parts for a 500 from the first build I decided this year I would do a race that I have alway wanted to do. SO this Year I am running the 24 hours of Perry mountain On a 1995 KX 500 once this race is over then I will pull the motor and Put it back in the af Frame.
If you didn't see it on the other post this is what happened on its last ride

Wow, that rod blew out of there like a 6 am chubby.
-
Looks like the KX 500 af will live again, Currently replacing Crank, bearing, seals, Piston, and all in a 1995 kx 500 before installing in final build.... I will get picks up here soon of the new final product....
-
I hope everything goes well this time. you used a cast piston last time right? make sure you get a weisco . good luck :-D
-
Thats just detonated! That motor just wanted out. Did you pin point exactly what failed and why?
-
Bike looks sweeeet! I gathering parts to start project.
-
Not sure that we ever realy pin pointed for sure what happened but every one feels confident that the rod had to of broke first. Every one that has looked at it thinks that the rod must of had a Small crack develop at some point in its life and motocrossing it was enough stress to have it let go.
All i know is it cost me alot of money and time. Shes back now and this time I put every thing new with a new wiseco piston figured we would try one and see if it last...
