looks ugly , why dont you just put the proper tank on , put a new set of green side covers on and leave the rear fender on, the last thing you want is one of those ugly fenders that stick straight up

I'm sure he will put the correct parts back on.
Since he just got it is excited about it, I think he just wanted to show us a great find.
And, it's always fun to post the before and after pics.  8-)

Thanks, after the mock up photos I dropped in a 55 pilot, air screwed 1/1/4 with fresh fuel 40.1,added some grips the old ones disintegrated in my hands, even with the rear roached tire the front end does its dance with a roll of the throttle,id like to find a 89kx 250 tank but if i don't ill make the yam dry ice tank work, plan on racing it at mammoth once a year. I currently ride a rotation dirt bikes out of my back yard every other day. Have a great one.

putting a piece of yamaha plastic on a kawisaki is like putting a chevy engine in a ford. i could never commit such sacrilege. some things just shouldn't be done. kawis should stay kawis and yamas should stay yamas. just givin ya a hard time man, have fun on it.

I guess I'm going to have to post this on the a/f fabricators section for someone to appreciate the work that was done to make this factory tank which was ran in the outdoor nationals by the factory team, Hill like in Josh Hill, the hollow cavity was to stuff it with ice in order to keep the fuel cool, tank capacity was also increased to make to the end of the moto.I guess I should just take it to the recycler along with cans & bottles(not).I already removed all the titanium bolts and washers and was surprised by the weight of a yam petcock which feels like a pound.
