Title: Kickback from a 500 is a bad thing without proper footwear.
Post by: jkrum on December 01, 2010, 10:30:41 AM
Well i thought workboots would suffice as riding boots. WRONG! Time to go buy some real MX boots, after my foot is able to kick again.    Ripped right through the boot and the sock i was wearing, luckily it didnt tear through my foot. haha

I've ruined a few tennis shoes while kicking mine over but never work boots.
Sweet!
Hope you heal soon.
Being injured and wanting to ride really stinks

No B/S I did the exact same thing way back in the day when I first got my KX 500. I thought I would grab my helmet and go for a spin one day after work, in my work boots. Not trying to one up ya but I did tear the side out of my foot. After trying in vain to push start the bike I then had to buck up and just kick it with the old bloody ripped open foot. That s**t hurt like hell didn't it.

DoldGuy: haha yeah dude! But I know a person who is selling a pair of AlpineStars tech 8's i think, in good condition and fit perfect, for $30 so I think that might help some too. ;)
sandblaster: Yeah dude hopefully I'll be able to kick it over by Friday I'm off that day so I wanna go to a local trail for the day.
littlewing: dude how did it hit your shin?
BDI: Dude, it sucked and yeah I'm way lucky. I'm sorry that happened to ya I'll be stoked when I get those freakin' AlpineStars.

OUCH! I'm thankful I grew up on a 76 WR360 husky that had a left hand kicker! I can use my left foot the same as my right. :-)

sounds backwords, but I'd rather ride a bike with MX boots than a helmet. Don't get me wrong, I never ride without all the gear, but my first choice is boots.
