Can anyone recommend a set of radiator guards to fix an 05 KX-125? I don't fine many options and I'm looking for the best brand for woods riding.
Thanks
P.S. Just finished a hybrid build using 05 KX and 02 KDX220r motor. Check it out, doesn't sound like KDX anymore? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sk0kC78h-qg

Bouillon,
That build was FAST!
Check out Works Connection for the braces they have very good quality & fitting products.
Show us some How To on this build as I am sure there are members interested (I know I am).

Yeah, it did go pretty quick. I believe the best decision I made was to abandon the 99 model donor I had picked up for $125, sold my 2007 KLX300r and bought a 2005 KX-125 for $2,100 that had literally barely been ridden. I sold the kx motor for $930.
This was our first ever project of this type. I'm no mechanic and I believe just about anyone can do this.
I got all my information to do the build on KDXrider.net (i hope I can say that here?) They have a KDX-MX Hybrid forum. GREAT info.
Again my recommendation is to use the best 2003-2005 KX you can find.

Newest pic of my hybrid (05 KX / 02 KDX220r). Changed out rear rim and tire to 18" and threw some inexpensive graphics on. Still looking for the right skid plate and radiator guards

Looking great!
Congratulations.
I'm sure there will be some KDX guys who would like to see some build pics and a write up on how it rides.
Nice job

Ricochet makes a nice skid plate for the KX250, check them out. Steahly Offroad carries them. Great looking bike by the way!

Rocky Mountain ATV has Radiator guards and Skid plates, pretty reasonable prices too. Thats where I got the skid for my 125.

http://www.scorpionracing.ca/. They have exceptional product. They do not have a kx125 skid plate as of yet. Don't forget to check out http://www.devolracing.com/

The radiator guards that Rocky Mountain has are Devol. I think they are somewhere around $90

In my experience the WC braces are worthless, they don't protect from inward bending. I would recommend devol, just because of the limited availability for this bike and they also protect the fins from frontal impact.

What kickstand is on that it looks scary. I highly recommend ProMoto kickstands.

Devol makes the best armor for this bike

The kick stand came with the bike when I purchased it used. Not sure of the brand. I lost one of the two bolts holding it on during my last race and haven't been able to line it up since? I think I may have bent the support on it?

That looks like the trail tech kickstand, my son has it on his 04KX250. I got the Promoto Billit one and it is well well worth the money. Great piece of work. Love it. I am using devol rad guards for woods and hare scrambles. They look great allow plenty of air flow and decent support for extra support (if your prone of many crashes...he he he) use the dovol in combination with the works connection ones.

there is a spacer that goes between the frame and the kickstand mounting plate. It looks like a Trail Tech or MSR which is mak\de by Trail Tech, you can get replacement hardware for it. Put some Blue Loc-Tite on the treads when you re-install it.
