Hello I just want to introduce myself I live in Maryland and love to ride on my time off, I run a family owned hobbyshop called HobbyShock. I have a 1992 KX500 and two banshees 03 and 06 SE. I dont know if my KX500 runs right but it is fast. Whas a good way to tell if it's runing as fast as a new stock bike? I dont know how fast it should go for my last bike was a 01 cr125. If anyone needs help with something RC related I am the one to ask.

May I ask you this, is it faster than the banshees?

Welcome, Moonie.
Planes or 4 wheels? Electric or nitro? Or gas? On-road or off-road?
Should be a few guys on this forum near you that you can hook up with for a ride and compare if you want to evaluate your 500.
What kind of riding did/do you do?

Welcome Moonie,
Maybe there is another member within a reasonable distance who you could ride with and compare notes.
A very good friend /Riding buddy had a '99 KX5 and I had a CR5 at one time. We swapped bikes every ride.
I got My KX and put it together "stock" and it still scares me
If the bike has never been apart you may consider a leak down & pressure test to give you an indication of the seals. Get yourself a service manual and peruse the site.
Before you know it you'll have the heart of that thing on yer bench getting warmed over and ready for a few more years of service.
