Title: Back with bike
Post by: bigfabber on December 29, 2009, 06:47:31 AM
Been a member here awhile, lurker, generally. Had plans to pick up a  k5 last spring. Well, it worked out. Its a 97 with fresh top end, clutch and bearings. The silencer has been shortened so it only reaches the end of the side panel, not too sure about that. It has the front end off an 04 YZF450 on it. Seems to work well. Starts easily and runs strong, that " lean it over til gas comes out" tip works great for me. It is very powerful compared to my 250s, but not the wheelie monster some of you describe, but to be fair, I'm probably 300 lbs with all my gear on. I'm a trailrider so I'm thinking about probillet kickstand, decent skidplate instead of the little glide plate it has and maybe a flywheel weight. Didn't ride it as much as I would have liked last year, too busy at work and my son's ride seized and took some time to fix. Now there's snow on the ground and I've got the itch something terrible. Cheers to you all and the great info this site provides.

Welcome back. Spring will be here before you know it and it will be time to ride.

  :-D
You guys won't soon forget "By the time We realized We were in a swamp it was too late!"
That looks like the kind of stuff that sucks the boots off your feet when trying to walk out!
