I wanted to show the engine building stand that I made. If you happen to have some 1/2" thick X 3 1/4" X 6" 6061-t6 channel laying around you can make one too. I used some 3/4" all thread to connect the two peices so I can adjust the width. Only Having the all thread at one end works out sweet because there is nothing in the way when you have the trans or other shafts down. another cool thing about the big aluminum channel is you can easily make notes on it with a sharpie. Your notes are right there in your face where you can't forget and it easily whipes off with a little break parts cleaner. The all thread would probably be best at the ends on the bottom but my peices of channel already had the holes in them so I just utilized those for now.

That would be a glass of leaded kool-aid and please ignore the peg board, all the tools just got taken down and put in a tool box. all that is left up there is the extra stuff and looks like crap, kinda embarrassing I need to finish it.

Your welcome. It is a great idea! Just put a 10 ton jack above it and you wont have to get out of your chair. :-D Except to refill the Cool-Aid :-P

I made one not too far off that design but out of wooden offcuts from a house I was building instead.
Took about a minute to make once the chopsaw and nailgun were out of the van :-D
Yours does look a lot nicer though.

The black tray is an oil drip tray like you would put under your car. I got it at the auto parts store. They are very handy I also use one on my porting table, it helps to keep the soft aluminum heads from getting scratched up and helps to contain the mess.

Is that a dart board target on the wall ? ( red bike) I thought only Audi's had five valves, what bike does that head go too ?

My bet is that head is from a big bore Blue Dart Board! :-P yz426, 450

I have to admit I'm a bike whore. I ride a suzuki on the street a honda in the desert and I use the kx500 exclusively for making all others cry in their high octain fuel at the sand dunes. The head is from a YFZ450/500 big bore,big stroke,big valves,big carb,big cams and a little 130 pound kid riding it. Weez goin sand dragin.

Have You (or the KID) tryed Rinaldi???
In Euro sidecars they use YZF500/550 Rinaldi. Only plobleme is the clutch.
Makes to much Horse power. And for MX racing it's the fastest team.

I'm sorry for draging up an old post but I was hoping by now someone has built one. I would like to see what others have done along this line. I know if jfab has built his it has to be sweet and I would love to see it. I also have another engine stand idea in the making but no pictures yet.
