my carb is leaking petrol really bad when i turn the petrol on even just a little bit. could anyone point me in the right direction as to what it might be before i start taking it to bits????
-
Your needle valve has to be stuck open!
-
other people are telling me its the floats or the needle has worn down????
-
I think we are all saying the same thing, The float is what opens and closes the needle valve! :-D
When it sticks open the gas will run out the over tube. :-D
-
lol oh yeah and there is no other reason for it to be leaking then no?
thanks alot for the help

perhaps the float has a hole or crack in it allowing fuel to seep into the float. causing it to , well, not float. then it would not close the seat and stop the flow of fuel.
-
What area of the carb is the fuel coming from, under the bowl out the line conection or so on?

basicly straight out the over flow pipe

Float is stuck. Which is basically what everyone else has said, I guess. Most likely debris in carb. Sometimes you can tap it lightly and it will stop. Or pull er off and clean it. May be a good time to drain gas, clean carb, air filter and air box. Look everything over in the carb. Make sure jets are clean, slide is clean and snapping back completely closed and no other debris. I'm not saying slide or jets cause overflow, but debris causes issues with these parts also. Good luck!

thanks for the help guys :-D

Very good advice. Clean it with carb cleaner (spray type) then blow the disasembled parts out with compressed air.
