I bought a holeshot button for my bike a few weeks ago, but the seller was mistaken about fitment. My bike uses fork guards with sliders at the bottom of each upper fork leg. Newer KX125/250/450s don't use the slider.. the guard mounts to the lower fork leg and that's it.
So what is the difference between the guards I have and the guards without sliders on newer bikes? Could I safely remove my sliders and run the guards by themselves?

What year and model KX (or KXxxxF) do you have? I have a 2005 KX250 with a clamp that holds onto the back of the guard. I know the 1993? - 2003 clamps have a clamp with a slot in it that is visible in the front. They switched to a different design in 2004, but what you are talking about must be even newer than that. I saw some at the Atlanta SX that were like that on a couple of Honda's. That might be the newest style you are referring to if Kawasaki's are like that.
