Title: ya so i learned a lesson today.
Post by: kix500 on March 14, 2006, 03:27:25 PM
me and my bud went out for the first ride of the spring and needless to say it is still very muddy and slick. but anyway we were rideing up in some foot hills by my house and was climbing every thing i could but what i failed to realize was that all the hills i climbed were the south faceing slopes. when i went for the last hill it was real steep and a north slopeto boot.anyways i i started grabing gears and was flying in 3rd wot. bout 1/2 way up thats when i realized that the hill was a frozen solid ice mountain. some how after all the tumbleing and sliding and skiding down the moutain my bike was above me???? dunno how but anyway i managed to jam the crap out of my thumb and scrap the skin off my arm hurts like he!1. but oh well like i always say if your going to play your going to pay. the lesson i learned is that bikes and ice bad combo. just thought i would share.

Copy,
I can agree with that.  I ride in snow quite a bit. As you start climbing higher in the mountains as soon as you hit fully frozen ground you can't go anywhere, zero traction.  Some use those trellebourg studded tires to ride a bit longer, but I just go skiing instead. Cam.

I also learned the hard way with a dirtbike on the snow, but not to bad. Now when the snows get here, out comes the quads. They aren't much better on the hills but lots of fun on the flat ground.
