Title: Invalid serial#. What year is it?

I picked up the allegedly kx250. The kid i got it fromhad no idea what year it is. I do not either. Anyway someone can point me in the direction of what year it is? Ive searched alot and came up with 1988-1990 but not sure . Thanks
