I need help figuring out which year this KX250 is. Obviously, it's a 94-98, but I think it's a later model because of the front number plate, and even though they can't be seen very well, it looks like it has the 97+ footpegs. Any thoughts?

it definitely has the '97-'98 swingarm.
If you're in the U.S. then this chart will work for you...

I should be slapping my forehead. Now that you mention it, I see the swingarm. Talk about hiding in plain sight. Anyways, thanks for the link, but I don't know the VIN. At least I know it's a 97-98. I'll keep my fingers crossed so I can possibly have a chance at it and it goes cheap.

Wow, thanks a lot Sandblaster!

98 has powerjet carb, 97 does not...appears to have wiring for the powerjet from the picture, looking at pictures from phone, so not sure.

You're right, DoldGuy. It does have the wiring harness for the carb. Now that its age is cleared up, I have a little more reason to go check this thing out. As everyone knows, the 98 is one of the great ones. Plus, I'm drawn to it because 98 has always been my racing number. Stupid reason, yes, but it's my reason.

Definitely a 98. I own one that ive stripped down for parts for my 97 SR250.
Send me a message if you get stuck for parts as I have a lot.
