Title: KX500 in a KX250 frame?
Post by: G-HOPPER on April 01, 2003, 01:05:43 AM
Is it possible to put a 93 KX500 motor into a 97 KX250 frame? Has anyone ever heard of this or have info on this? I was just curious.

Title: Frame swap
Post by: Zombie on April 01, 2003, 10:59:30 AM
 Id like to see the mighty 500 in the new, smaller KX frames ('03). It would make a killer MXer, but it would probably shake the frame apart. There have been plenty of swaps, and a few that Ive seen have custom-made 2-piece pipes to fit. If youve got a frame, go for it! But, if youre just blazing around, Id stick with the stocker. A perimiter-framed 500 would just be a moto-only tool (or is that club?) and wouldnt have much range, unless you put on a big tank, which would defeat the purpose of putting the thing in a skinny frame. As much as I like the Jolly Green giant, Id like it to be a bit thinner through the waist, so Id never buy a big tank. But, to each their own. Enjoy your monster!!!
