Hi the names luke from the nz, just rebuilding my 2004 kx500 and am looking for some helpful advice and ideas, will post a pick when im done but bike is pretty standard and use it for trailriding

welcome aboard luke...
if you're rebuilding the motor, it would be best to replace every bearing, seal, snap ring, new crank, any/all gears that look questionable, look at the shift forks closely, inspect the clutch plates and springs...I'd just get new clutch springs regardless, fresh re-plate with a Wossner piston and a complete Cometic gasket kit...that would get you started.

thanks for the tips , I am doing crank and all bearings and seals,I replaced clutch kit with springs etc a couple of months ago but 1 question i like to know is is it better to use sealant or a gasket between crank cases as some gasket sets have a gasket for inbetween crank cases?

yamabond4 is what you want for case sealant...
