Title: New Guy , important question
Post by: Outkast on September 10, 2014, 07:25:24 AM
Hi people , rebuilding my 2004 kx 500 motor , yes i did buy the factory shop manual and supplement , little did i realize when i disassembled the motor i needed to really pay attention to the shift fork locations ,yes i did see they were numbered,,, so being used to honda ,yamaha stuff i assumed the service manual would refer to the shift forks by the # on them not by shape or letters that don't appear on the forks ... i want to make sure i install properly . i have the fork that goes on the primary shaft installed correctly . just need to confirm the position of the 2 forks on the counter shaft... Hope somebody can let me know which is which and by the numbers on the forks.  thanks for the help

Welcome aboard! Sometimes the parts diagrams are helpful at sales sites. You can usually identify what's what and where based on your packaging part numbers?
