Title: kx250 street duty
Post by: bansheedave on June 19, 2013, 03:41:35 PM
I am building a street legal kx250. It will do double duty., street and trail. I will be swapping out wheels for this. one set for trail and one for street. My question is, to get the supermoto look with street tires, what size rims should I go with and can they be laced up to stock hubs? Or can a street bike rim set fit a stick kx axle? My kx is a 96 if that helps.

For a supermoto wheel get 17'' rims.
Your stock hubs can be laced.
Fronts are 17x3.50
Rears are 17x 4.25. any wider in the rear and your chain will rub.
I Haven't found any street rims that would fit my 2000 kx 250 which share the same axel sizes as your bike.
When I bought my set of wheels the tags on the rims said- fits 1993-2002 kx125, kx 250
                                                                                      1994-2004 kx 500.

Thank you for the reply. Where would I begin to look for those rims sizes?

I checked them out online. Not bad pricing. Just need to get some hubs and a spoke sets. And a set of tires and tubes
