Can a 1993 KDX250 trans be put into a 1993 KX250. My friend is looking at a 93 kx250 & I'm wanting to know if it can be turned into a KDX easily? He's not a motocrosser & I know the deeper first will help him out a bit.

no definitely not.
the '93 kdx engine is still based on the old kx-engines of 87-89. In 1990 came a completely new kx-engine, where the cases and complete transmission are diferent. for the older engine you could only use the trannies of 83-89 .
in the ´93 kx250 engine you could only use the kx250-trannies from 1990- 2004 .

Yes it can be done. There is a thread over at Thumper Talk in the 2t Kawi forum. The newer engine came out in 92. The KDX trannies from 83-84 were 6 speeds and could not be used in the watercooled KX engines. The 91-94 KDX250 tranny can be used and the swap is quite easy from what I have read.
