Almost crate fresh Kx500
Oxidizer:
Got a phone call from a friends dads telling me his boss was selling a dirt bike that was only rode for less than an hour behind his house on his personal track and has been sitting in the garage since. I asked what it was he said i don't know its green and really dusty so i went to check it out and it turned out to be a 03' kx500. Story was he bought 2 of them in 04 raced 1 and kept the other as a backup he confirmed that he only rode it on his small track in the back yard for around an hour then drained all the fluids and it's been sitting on a stand since then. i already have 5 bikes so i figured why not give a 500 a chance. took it to the car wash and was offered $3000 for it, but i decided i wanted to hang on to it for now. After just spraying it off i think i'm just going to mount it on the garage wall as art. I cant bring myself to take this thing it the woods it's absolutely 100% original and needs nothing i have everything that came with it when new, there isn't even any wear on the chain slide not a single knick on the pipe tits on the tires. So my question is should i ride it, sell it, keep it hung up on the garage wall?? i'm from the east coast and have always dreamed of going to glamis so i might just put a paddle tire on it so i'm not temped to take it out n trash it in the woods.
anyway on to the pictures

It sure looks good OX,
There are a few items that do have me scratching my head...The black tank, no decals, and the 500 decal on the swingarm, all black seat...Maybe it was picked up in the crate and assembled at the owners home.
I might just be all wet on the appearance, but it does look brand new... I don't think I could get rid of it if it were in my garage...
Welcome to the site!

id say get the stock graphics and put the bike on display in your garage. these 500s are only going to go up in value as the years go by especially for a close to brand new 500

sick bike!! i agree with tuck though, strange on the tank, seat, and stickers.... however, maybe he had it customized for racing or what not... either way... awesome bike... enjoy it!
Foxx4Beaver:
If it were me...I'd ride it,AND have a special place for it inside the HOUSE....the garage is NO place for ANY KX5!!!
