1986 KX125 Gearing

For new chain and sprockets, I went to 13/48 gearing for my daughters 1986 KX125 vintage MX which is the same as her  2009 KX250F?  Anyone know if that gearing will work? :-D

all my 125s always liked something in the 51 range in rear, 12 in front. your 13/48 sounds  tall for 125.

Openclass:
I'm running 13/51 on my yz125. It was my son's bike, so I geared it down to that because he was having trouble getting it started form a standstill. It may be a little slower on top end speed but it will be a little quicker.
