New guy on the forum
Dodd:
Hello all-
My name is Dodd Jacobsen and I just joined the forum. As per the introduction thread, here is a little about me.
I've lived and ridden in Colorado all my life. I've burned through almost every canyon and ridable stretch of asphault in this state more than once, and most of em' in eastern Utah.
I roadraced with the MRA here in Co since 2007. I had to take last year off after having to eat $6000 when I low sided my ZX6R race bike and broke it in half.
Anywhoo- I've embarked on a new project, a 1991 KX5 that I am half way through transforming into a roadracer. I'm a spagetti bike lover (Ducati) but have always had a soft spot for the Kwak's.
I'm looking forward to picking your brains, I've read most all the Supermoto threads here and have already learned a good bit. Right off I'm trying to figgure out what parts are swapable (With newer and or smaller Kawasaki) with the big KX, as finding oversized brake rotors and calipers for a 20 year old dirt bike has been a bit challenging.
Thanks for having me around. I read in the intro pm from the Mod that you have to post up 10 times before you can get into the classifieds, which is fine. However, right off I am in need of a set of radiators for my KX. Let me know if you have anything- Thanks again!

Friar-Tuck:
Hey Dodd,
pleased to have you with us. There have been several kx5 powered roadrace bikes in the past, however I don't recall how the projects turned out.
We have a resident Motorcycle Re-Cycler (or Breaker) by the username "Sandblaster".
His website is www.oem-cycle.com Drop him a note or check out his site. He says to let him know you are a KXRiders member and "He'll Hook You Up"
Several of the other guys have done business with his company and have nothing but good things to say. And trust me, The age of the average member here is a tad higher than most of the bigger yuppy-ier sites...
The guys will call them as they see them !

sandblaster:
Thanks Tuck.
According to the book the radiators you need will fit 88-04 KX500.
All I have right now is two right radiators :-(
Here's a guy that has a left for 50 bucks

We can match his price for the right if your interested.
However, here is a guy selling a new aftermarket set for really cheap :-o

I bought a set over a year ago.
I had to modify some of the mounting holes but so far they have performed very good.
Friar-Tuck:
No thanks necessary Bro!
Going the extra mile to look up parts from other sources, I wish more entrepreneurs did their work like you Blaster.
Good on 'ya as the Aussie's would say. :-D

Dodd:
Thanks fellas. I'll have to hold off on the radiators for now, I'm sending the forks and shock off to have them shortened and revalved. I appreciate you guys, and this fourm. Its nice, laid back and chuck full of good info. I'll let you guys know how the build is going.
In the mean time I'm hunkering down- up here at 9000 feet in the Colorado mountians its going to be close to
-30 tonight. Ugh.
Thanks again,
Dodd
