Mine hasn't slipped. And my bike taps 12k

Mine has not slipped but does not rev to 12K!!!! As has been mentioned before: the 'key' does not 'hold' the flywheel, it just makes it easier to set the timing in a production situation. The taper is what holds the flywheel to the crankshaft.
I believe my KX500 started on the second kick after sitting for months while I did the 'street legal' conversion including the MZB. Starts easier, runs better. Revs REALLY quick with the light flywheel set up on the street. Good strong lights.
If I did the conversion again, which I would not do : ), I would use the MZB again.

You're right, it doesn't hold it. having said that I've sneezed a Cr500 while kicking it and sheared the crank key. Kinda neat if you hit it just right it'll run backwards :roll:

ok thanks guys really appreciate it, got to wait till i get a few more bits together then will sort the purchase out. like most my builds new parts sit around for ages till i fit them. my kx5 is going into the 3rd year of its full restoration coz I'm so anal polishing and painting every nut or bolt and replacing every chipped or scratched part lol.
ps this product is what i was looking for 10 years ago on a 1989 to road register but gave up.
