KX250 engine year??

(1/2) > >>

Caddy 16v:
hi,

I got 2 kx250 as a project, one is suppose to be a 88 and the other one a 91, I decided to rebuilt the better looking engine and that was the 88, so I split the cases and the crank has a thread on the stator site (flywheel nut) when I look up parts diagrams that seems to be the wrong crank for the year of the engine as the 88 don't have the thread on the end!?

My engine number is: KX250HE011380

I haven't tanken the "91" engine apart as it looks like it is completely locked up, or am I mixing up my two engines? I'll get the other engine number when I go to the shop but I'm pretty sure it ends with a 91.

Thanks, Bjoern

the other engine has the numbers: KX250EE006491

Hi Bjoern,
I have a Clymer that follows, it states
1990 KX250-H1  ---   KX250HE000001-ON
1991 KX250-H2  ---   KX250HE000001-ON
Your  KX250HE011380 is either one  sorry that's not much help...

      Your  KX250EE006491  Is an 1988
  The manual reads as follows 1988 KX250-F1  ----  KX250EE004801-010700
I'll try to get the pages posted tomorrow in my photobucket account.

hey Tuck,

thanks a lot that helps, so I mixed the years up... the 88 to 91 should be the same anyways at least mine look identical :-)
