rastamankenny:
i have an 87 kx250 and im missing sum parts 4rm the carb n kwasaki dont carry them anymore so i was thinking bout getting an 86 kx250 carb. anyy thoughts on this?
Friar-Tuck:
Rasta,
Here are a few links to look through.
http://www.carbparts.com/keihin/kdirt.htm
http://www.sudco.com/
The clymer I have says the '87 kx250 stock is a Mikuni VM38ss
(pg.334 Table 3) I don't have the specs on an '86
The 1988 came with a PWK 39
A few other options you might consider is a PWK 38 airstryker
or standard PWK 38
A new carb is probably gonna' run $200. ish
Re-building yours or another used one there are a few questions you might want to think about.
The sum of the parts may sometimes cost as much or more of a replacement.
Ebay is another option. (but has it's risks)
I guess it depends how much you can spend, how modified is the engine and what type of riding you mostly do, MX,Dunes, Woods etc.

rastamankenny:
i found a carb for an 86 250. but i cant seem to find the specs for it anyway online n i really dont wanna go buy a manual for it. i kno the specs for an 87 250. 88 250 used keihin carb while 87 and down uses a mikuni vm38ss. those websites dont carry the needle i need. the motor is stock fresh top-end re-sleeved. i saw a few carbs on tumpertalk for 118.
nd4speed:
You need to buy a modern carb that will be better and easier to find parts for like a Keihin PWK.
Travis398:
what part are you looking for? the needle?
