spark plug question.

Yea, im sticking with the BR8ES because it it has that tan color that everyone is looks for.  I just wanted a spare spark plug and i wanted to see if it would make a difference. It seemed to run hotter with the IEX in it too. I thought the lower the number the cooler the plug was??? O well whats 10$?  Oh and when i ran the IEX in it i turned the pilot airscrew in a turn to see if it would richen the mix a little bit, then i ran the old plug in it and checked the old plug and it came out black and sooty.  This isn't bad right, just a little rich???  O and im running AMS dominator oil and 93 pump fuel. 32:1.
