kx500 supermoto

hi there new to site ,  i own a cr500af supermoto ,a old 85 kx500 mx that i have not driven for years [needs a engine rebuild ]  a 88 kmx200, and now  a unfinished project   Husqvarna sm510r with a rebuilt 88 kx5 fitted, 
now for a few questions :-D
My flywheel side KIPS valve is spinning freely with my finger[ exhaust off]what is most likely to be broken?
Would a later top end 3kips  fit  and work all valves with my 88 bottem end [ 2 kips ]?
Need low end power ,tickover,and hopefull no surging ,is a thick head gasket the way to go when i have head off?
Any porting tips for low end power?
