My motor did not need a break in period because I took it from my donor bike.  I want an hour meter before I start riding.  You should order one now so you can install it when you get the bike.

The "Tiny Tach"  Kawasaki part number: K 56019-051  Check hour meter at this link:  http://www.kxriders.com/forums/index.php/topic,4835.0.html

AJ sent my bike 20 days before the official delivery date.

Here's a link to my bikes story:

I have 2 bikes I will never sell,  the 2004 KX500 I bought new and the KX500AF I bought from AJ.

I also own a "05" RMZ450 and an "07" RM250 that I just can't part with. I'm meticulous about maintenance and they're still in great shape with all original engine parts. The 450 has over 200 hours on it uses no oil and still floats the front end up in top gear with just a crack of the throttle. The 250 has about 100 hours and still screams!

I will sure consider the hour meter for the KX500AF. I think it should keep it's value better than most other dirt machines.

Johnniespeed:
I know they are a nice bike but $11,800 is two and a half times what I paid for my new 2004 KX500.
For me, changing to an aluminum frame will not produce any speed improvements, however if I were to replace the rider, then we would see major gains.
You have a great bike, something to be proud of !

MonsterKX:
I saw your first post, and sounds like you are riding a serious weapon!  We ride once a year in your area.  We leave Southeast Idaho the first week in January and ride down around Primm then cut over the desert and ride the Kingston Wash.  Love the ride and love it when we get to the Dumas Dunes!  Ride hard!

I usually ride with another CR500 rider and a KX500 rider and about 5 or 6 other riders on all different machines. The CR500 rider sold his CRF450R for the 500 but now says he going to sell the CR500 because it's too much to handle. Wants to get a 250 2 stroke instead. Says he won't go back to 4 strokes though, too expensive! Both of them are fast movers! I'm slowly figuring out how to haul the mail on the 500AF but right now I still think I'm maybe a little quicker on my RMZ450. I think a few more months of consistent riding on the 500AF and I should be much faster than when I'm on the 450. Two different animals! I know the only thing holding the 500 back is me! The thing is a beast!

Next time your riding in Vegas shoot me a PM.
