agian on the jetting,.......user error..................
Hillclimb#42:
Of course user error, what else? Jetting and tune is key to two stroke performance. It seems easy to get wrong even with plenty of experience and reference material. If it aint right you can't be afraid to work on it. If it has been dead on for years, maybe consider other factors. Pro Circuit and FMF both have jetting, mixture adjustment, needle setting for each year and make of bike. Also has stock setting to compare to. That helps if you are not set up with stock jetting due to mods or whatever. You at least know which direction and how far that direction to take it.
You may want to check jets, since it seems you are a little farther off than needle change. If you are finding yourself all the way lean on needle or mixture screw all the way out then you should be re-jetting. (Same if you are going the other direction) Try it with the needle leaner than stock. The main may need to be one step leaner also for PC works pipe if it still has fat condition. Post results, Pro Circuit is the ticket.... 8-)
Woah, looks like PC recommends Changing main from 360 to a 370, Idle jet from 50 down to 45, from 4th clip to 2nd on the needle, and keep it at 2 turns out on mixture screw. I bet that combo works killer. They are the experts. Not me, obviously.
