Smoky and oily pipe
jazg:
Hey, i just bought a '99 kx125, she runs pretty well and everyting except that theres a cloud of smoke behind me in general and its even worse at high revs.
After a ride theres alot of oil running down my exhaust pipe.
running and oil fuel mix of 32:1 so i dont think the issue is there.
Any suggestions?? :?

your exhaust silencer probably needs repacked. take your tip off and look in there at the packing i bet it will be saturated with oil. same thing happened on my 2000 kx 250 i had oil coming out of the expansion chamber and spitting oil out of the silencer. my silencer packing was so fubar.

32:1 is a lot of oil get a synthetic and run 40:1 it helps a lot and check you jeting
jazg:
cool, was running a synthetic with 32:1 but will try the 40:1. had the carb out yesterday for the float level and only when it was in and i was about to fire up i remembered i should've checked the jetting. :x
i wana see if i can maybe get the smoking a bit better through mix and jets before doing the packing, otherwise i mite jus be masking a bigger problem and start grinding through packing!
thanks guys :-D

I 'd rather run too much oil and deal with goo than by parts and do repairs.....smoke is what they do.....just don't ride backwards and it won't bother you....Don't worry about global warming, check ut the Space Shuttle next time they launch it....when they fix that...I'll fix mine. Besides it's a known fact the our sun it constantly getting hotter , can't fix that ! ....km
