power valve problem?

(1/2) > >>

Kawasakinut:
took my powervalve apart thought i had all the pieces out but left the (main valve rod) in now I'm trying to take it out and it slides free until a point and then will not come out anymore.any ideas on how to take it out?

*good tip i got from jeeks: use permatex gasket remover to clean the powervalve housing and parts. its a no fuss operation just spray it on let sit for 5-10 min and rinse repeat till chromed out. now my parts are shiney. this stuff is very caustic ie:eats rubber gloves and clear the sinuses right up. i found it at a local autozone.*

Jeeks:
The hole that part is in is most likely filled with splooge.  Spray some brake clean, WD40 or anything to work the piece out.  You can even twist and turn it with some pliers.  Just be careful and wrap the end with a towel or some tape or something.

You have the two side valves out right?

Spray in here.  The last bit of the shaft is covered in gunk so it wont pull out cleanly.  The spray cleaner will help.

Jeeks:
That rod runs off of the top gear on that side valve.  So that valve needs to be removed.

Check the other two referenced locations for small cracks.

Kawasakinut:
jeeks that peice came out along with some metal shavings. i think that thing is bent or that might be the shredded crank bearing

Jeeks:
Naaah.  Get all the pieces together and examine them closely.

Sounds like something in the PV got stuck and some gears got chewed up.

Take some good pics for us to look at.
