KX125 Suspension Swapping

(1/2) > >>

2weelz:
Just bought a '02 KX125 to start my KX-D 200 project. The stock suspension is pretty lousy and I'm not sure if it will work for me. My question: will forks and shocks swap over from later generation bikes? Does anybody know the year ranges and bikes that will work? I'd like to keep it simple and use my existing caliper and wheel. I'm 160 lbs and will be riding hare scrambles. Any chance some stock susp from another bike will work ok without putting any money into it? Any help is much appreciated! Thanks guys.

2weelz:
No info on this?  I figured someone would have upgraded to a newer suspension setup.  Anybody?

Wizzy214:
dont upgrade to a different year or model!!!!
get your suspension re-valved and re-sprung to your weight and your riding conditions. take your forks and your rear spring to a suspension specialist.  let him go through it. about 300 bucks max and bam you got a good suspension. for you.

2weelz:
Yeah, that's looking to be the best option.

Jeeks:
Lots of people have installed USD forks on KDX's, if that is your intent.

Just to have my forks done by a suspension shop was over $400.  Springs, seals, re-valved.  I don't know where you can go for both front and rear for $300.
