What do you do in the "offseason"?

<< < (2/2)

The Flyin Hawaiian:
Here in Jersey we pretty much ride all year. When it gets really cold, we put ice screws in our tires. Id like to get a set of Trelleborg Friction Spikes, but their a bit steep at around $500 a set. :-o At the end of february, if we can afford it, my girlfriend and I head south for Bike Week and ride the Sandlapper Enduro in SC (on the way down) and the Alligator Enduro in Daytona. Our race season starts in march and ends in november.

KXcam22:
In a Kamloops BC typical season we ride March to June. It too hot (for us) in July and Aug (30-40C) so we hit the river or lakes and wakeboard. Come september it is back to riding until the snow comes in late October. Usually get some great snow rides in.  The diehards put in some studs to ride a bit later but I am ready for skiing by then. The local ski hill opens in November and we ski to early April.  I still want to do an April weekend where I ride one day, ski the next and then waterski the river (wetsuit). Maybe next year?? Cam.

I was just talking to some friends last night about doing a triathlon.  Surf in the morning, ride in the afternoon, and snowboard in the evening.  It's been about 8 years since I came up with that :p.  Some day.  You can be in the desert in 2 hrs from the beach and at the slopes in less than an hour from the desert. You have some d**n nice trails up there in Kamloops.  I would love to ride there some day.  The first video I ever bought has a lot of Kamploops footage.  Guy Perrett is in it and that guy can rail.  I like the offroad sections more than the moto and freestyle.

gowen:
Jetski, Boat, Motorcycle Ride, Hunt, Work (unfortunately), and Sleep more than normal.

Hillclimb#42:
Its full bore ridin' season here in Indiana until late Oct/ early Nov. Then we break out the bows and hunt down the venison. After we get enough of that, we may try riding the dunes in the off chance we have Temps above 45 (Farenheit). If its too cold to ride, thats when the planned rebuilds or new plastic/graphic kits are done. As far as actual training or anything, does 16 oz Silver Bullet curls count? Races and hunting are both all week-end camping events for us, so staying in for a month or two and watching Hillclimbs on DVD or "Garage Racing", is a nice break. Also a good time to save some dough for new gear. :-P
