street legal?

<< < (2/2)

The Flyin Hawaiian:
Id check your states DMV rules and regulations before you spend the money on a dualsport kit and lighting coil. Ive been able to tag all of my KXs and YZs but its a major pain in the butt. The D/S kits that Ive seen seem to require more wattage for their kits. E-Line makes a dual 100w coil (2 100w leads) Its pretty expensive at $350 to $400. In my opinion, they are the most reliable and are independent of the ignition stator plate. I have them on several of my bikes and they have been trouble free. Ive heard of a few problems with the add on coils going bad and causing ignition problems.l

MetalMan1011:
I got my KX250F street legal very easy,  I went and got the VIN verified by the Artic Cat Dealer(no motorcyle dealers around here), then I went and bought insurance, and then I went and got a plate.  No one even looked at it except for the guy that checked the VIN.  I could have got a plate with NO changes to the bike but I already had the street legal mods anyway.  Its really nice to live in a small town in the middle of nowhere.

Then this winter I put a K5 motor in the 250F chassis, so I still have the plate.  Its not a 250 anymore but its still registered as one.

MadKaw:
sweet deal Metal, what state you in?

kxaddicted:
its not too bad in IN, but it can be done.the real problem are the tires. and rims...
