woods conversion

gwcrim:
I just added a 12 oz. flywheel weight and it's one great investment.  My '02 250 came with a PC Platinum pipe that's more of a mid-top end pipe.  But with 13/50 gearing and the FWW it's like a tractor.  Can't stall the thing.

Personally, I don't think pipes make a HUGE difference.  I'd toss money at a skid plate, hand guards and other woods bling before I bought a pipe.

chap:
So far i love the bike steve,i dont have to many hours on it but i have raced her a couple of times(hare scrambles)and it works well.It is like riding a mountain bike compared to my ktm and i dont get as tired riding it.I did have a rekluse clutch on the ktm and i did like it,i may put one on this bike too.
I owned a 2001 kx250 once and this new one feels so much better, more stable, nicer power and the layout just suits my height and weight better. For now i have the suspension set up pretty well for the bush, surprisingly well for motocross suspension,i am impressed to say the least. With more time on it i might get both ends revalved, for now it is good.

SSMOKEM:

chap:
Your bike looks great,is that your boys 65 also.My boy also has one,he is 10,little bugger is starting to fly, gonna make the old boy look silly soon.We both along with my 8 year old race harescrambles.Great familly fun if you ask me.Do you like the pipe and the q silencer you put on there, what effect does it have from stock, better, worse, same?

SSMOKEM:
Yeah thats my sons 65, Santa got it for him this past Christmas...he's 8 and also has a KLX110 that we are gonna sell in the near future.  As far as the pipes I love the Gnarly pipe gave me tons of low-end but it did take a little from the top which was fine with me...I hate the "Q"....way to long and had nothing but problems with Jetting...fouled plugs every ride.  I went back to the stock siliencer and haven't fouled a plug since.  I came off a 05 CRF250X and I love the KX250...thing screams when I want it to, it's tons lighter and it just feels better in all around riding postions.  Not only that but the "fun" factor came back, I'm always smiling when I ride it...lol  I don't race right now but I plan on doing some woods races this coming year, my son races but nothing serious yet, he just loves to ride.
