woods conversion
Jeeks:
I also purchaced a new bike once. The best thing I ever did was NOT TO MESS with anything. 98 KX 250, the most extreme part I had replaced was the fork springs. Engine/reeds/exhaust/jetting all stock. It becomes a Viscious Cycle once you start tinkering. Play with the sprockets/suspension/protection. The engineers behind these machines know a hell of alot more than we do. Do you want to spend money? or do you want to ride? That KX will eat up anything, any terrain you throw in it's path.
my $0.02
chap:
I need a spark arrester for my 07 kx 250.Whats the best, quietest, easiest to install, cheapest.I want it all lol.Talk to me lol
The Flyin Hawaiian:
I race enduros on my 04 KX 250 which I bought as a leftover at the end of last year. I have done the following to it, these mods will apply to pretty much any bike.
Big tank, Clarke or IMS
V-Force
9 ounce Steahly fly wheel weight
Skid plate (when I go to the rock runs)
Hand guards
E Line pipe guard
WER steering dampner
WER suspension revalve
Lights
ICO Checkmate computer
Ive used both the FMF Q and the Pro 296 silencers, both are quiet but I had durability issues with several Qs. In my opinion, the PC 296 is the way to go.
FMF Gnarly pipe, I do have a discontinued Enduro Engineering low end pipe that I havent tried yet
Of course some stuff in my list are enduro necessities and not needed for woods riding or hare scramble competition.
The Flyin Hawaiian:
Thats Pro Circuit 296 spark arrester
chap:
