The Flyin Hawaiian:
I patterned my "kit" after Steahly's. After buying a kit for my gf's 04 KX 250, I just copied it for my 04. Its simple and it cost about $10, excluding the price of the headlight, which I already had. Deals on lights could be had on Ebay. You tap into the white wire with the red tracer that goes to the powerjet regulator on the left side of the frame, just behind the steering head. Run the wire to a two position (on/off) toggle switch. Tractor Supply has some nice water proof switches. From there run a wire to the light. I used the CDI mounting bolt for a ground. For the taillight, I ground it to the fender mounting bolt by the left side seat bolt. I put a disconnect in the airbox and run the power wire up to the switch. The Acerbis LED taillight works well with this setup. When I bought Steahly's kit, they told me that they did not know if there would be any problems stemming from the use of the pj coil. The kit was designed mainly to get you through tech inspection at a enduro. I use mine only when needed.

I forgot to mention that if you want a brake light, Fredette Racing Products makes a switch that would work.

Thanks, I've also been interested in converting my 03 KX250 into an enduro legal bike.  Now I need to find out how to rig an odometer set up?  Someone earlier mentioned the Q silencers weren't that hot, just wondering if the regular turbine core works well.

I had problems with several Q's, the cores kept breaking. I switched to the P/C 296. I also had some problems with the FMF Turbine Cores, the core kept breaking as well. I think the P/C is built much better. There is a link in the KX 500 forum on how to build a inexpensive odo. I use a ICO Checkmate on my KXs. They are not cheap at 450-475 bucks. ICO does make a cheaper odo for around $120. Try Trail Tech also. Do you plan on racing any enduros?
