Newbee 250 questions
gwcrim:
Just picked up an '02 KX250. Seems to fit me real well. And it doesn't take a gorilla to kick start! Have some questions. :?
Can I run pump gas?
Is the stock tank big enough to run hare scrambles?
The bike came with a Pro Circuit Platinum pipe. I've read that they are more for MX/top end than woods/bottom end. Should I be looking for a different pipe? If so which one? Would stock be better?
What size flywheel weight should I be looking at? Keep in mind, I'm coming off a KX520 w/an 11 oz weight.
Anything else that needs addressed?

I ride with some guy's that run 250's and they use the same 93 octane I use in my 500. That pipe you have widens the entire power band from bottom to topend, The Pro circuit Platinum 2 pipe is for woods riding it widens the bottom and mid range. How long are your races?? Most races around here are two hrs. Guy's on the 250 2-stroke and the 4-strokes are using stock tanks in the races around here. Our races are single track, open fields, atv wide trails. Some fast stuff and slow stuff. Glade you like the bike.
gwcrim:
HS around here are very tight and some are very steep.
I'd consider trading pipes if anyone is interested.

How do you compare the 250 to the 500 in the woods?? I have not rode a 250 but once or twice. I'm 6'2 and weight about 260 lbs so I have also thought the 250 would not be enough bike. I'm looking at getting another 500 early 2007 for moto.
gwcrim:
Ain't rode 'er yet. Snow's starting to fly. Might be a while. I hates cold weather.
I want a kickstand also. Utah Sport Cycle makes one. Promoto is too expensive. Any other options? The USC mounts to the swingarm. I'd like a frame mounted one. MSR doesn't list one.
