waht is the diff?
kix500:
between redline raceing oil and redline snowmobile oil?
Paul:
If I had to guess...
I would say it has something to do with the way the oil acts based on temperature. Snow mobile oil would obviously be better formulated for cold weather characteristics (mixing, resistance to spereation, etc...) than a racing oil that would probably be used in a motorcycle in a temperature band somewhere between 45 - 90 degrees or so.
kix500:
that makes sence. do you think it would be safe to run the redline snowmobile oil in kx5? because i have an unlimited supply of it. also what ratio would you recomend?
Paul:
I use Amsoil Pro @ 100:1. I can't offer anything on the snowmobile oil, it won't hurt the engine I know that but I don't know if it has enough shear strength to run @ 40:!, 50:! or whatever. Whatever the recommended ratio is should be on the bottle though. Thats what I would start with.
kix500:
ok thanks
