1999 kx500 blowing oil through exhaust

With new top end rebuild, could the power valve "aka" exhaust valve have any thang to do with lettin oil blow through the exhaust? Its not 2 cycle... this oil is coming from the case somehow.. any help or answer, or even a suggestion would greatly help.. thanks
