92 KX500 Land Speed Record Attempt Production Class
motorman455:
Here's the rear MC after 2 rides. I'm also wearing through the frame gripper tape so it's seeing some heavy abuse!
sandblaster:
If this bike sees any Cerakote it will be clear. All aluminum will be vapor blasted. On the outside this bike will be another clean stock build... But I intend to put some fire to the engine.. :-D
motorman455:
That makes sense with all of the cleaning and
polishing :-D. I tried the Cerakote Clear Aluminum coating on my K5 TSR right side cover to preserve the polished billet. It's a lot easier to apply than the other coatings and doesn't require all the degreasing, catalyst, and oven cure. I will see how well it holds up in a few weeks.
sandblaster:
I have some of that clear but I'm not gonna hold my breath. I've shot it on non wear parts only...
They need to add Kryptonite to it or something....
sandblaster:
Finally I'm back on the "Special Bike"
Getting this KX500 rear brake caliper ready to go. Waiting for the new piston to get here.
I've always liked good brakes on my KX500 and since this bike will be incredibly fast I would like to be able to stop it..
