Hey everyone, new to the board and I’m already under way on my rebuild.  Got a real good deal (in my opinion) on the bike.  The bones are in good shape but everything else is a mess. Needs a lot of new parts and a top and bottom end rebuild.  But I’ve built a few quads from the ground up in a resto-mod sorta way so I wanted to give it a try with a bike.  Unfortunately I had to sell off my toys a few years back because of a problem with Uncle Sam but that’s all taken care of and I’m rebuilding the toy box slowly.

So my plan is to take this old race bike and turn it into a reliable woods bike.  Maybe one day I’ll enter an old man class hare scramble if I get my skills and comfort level back on 2 wheels instead of 4!  Already sent the forks and rear shocks to Factory Connection to be set up properly for wood riding and my weight.  Sending the frame, swing arm and some other pieces out for powder this week or next when I decide on colors.  I want to get it back to a roller then take my time thru the winter on the engine rebuild.  Never an engine top to bottom so I figure go slow and don’t make stupid mistakes is the right approach.    Not much else to say at this point I guess.  I’m lousy at remembering to take pics along the way but here’s what I started with and where it is now.  Thanks for looking.  I’ll post as I go.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the bike.
Your off to a really good start.
So many people ignore the suspension until the end of a build and yet, that's the one thing that will make you faster then anything else..
The second thing that will make you the next fastest is paint choices....
It's gotta be Prismatic Powders Kiwi Green.... Just sayin  :-D
