KX 60 / 65 Throttle On A KX 125 / 250

Kawafornication:
Has any body on here experimented using a KX 60 (assume 65 is same part) throttle on a 125 or 250 two stroke? I know ex 500 World runner up (more than once) Kurt Nicoll used them on his bikes KX & KTM 500 + CR 250 back in the day! Curious if you need a custom cable for a KX 60 to KX 250 or if they are plug and play across all KX models?? Thanks
