Pretty much failed on my first attempt on the pipe. Anybody try just cutting the CR pipe where it attaches to the cylinder and welding the same straight part from a KX pipe.  This would mean running basically a CR500 pipe. Much easier to weld up however. Anybody got any suggestions????

Tank on and lined up. Engine sitting in frame with carb and air box connected. Still have to figure out a silencer.
Also, for some strange reason my clutch cover is binding when I try to install it. Locking up the kick starter???  Hmmmm...

I tried that on my first attempt. The CR pipe runs too close to the cylinder to clear everything without major dents, and it hits the ignition cover. You can start with the CR pipe welded to the KX stub and add to it as necessary to gain clearance. That's what I did on my bike. I added a section at the first turn to space it out for the ignition cover, and then added a wedge on the big part of the pipe in front of the cylinder to turn it away from the motor a bit. It was 2 inches at the top and half an inch at the bottom. Even with that, I still had to do a couple of hammer adjustments. It's a lot of trial and error.
