(1/1)

fatdaddy:
hi peoples....im new to the forum....my son was out riding today on his kx250 and his chain broke....got bunched up in CS and unfortunately, broke the case. from the number code on case states that its a 97 case KX250KE0(24960)...my question is, i have a set of cases from a 95 KX250KE011852....Does anybody know if beings both the 97 and 95 are in the (K) series should they interchange? thanks in advance...

Hi fatdaddy, welcome to the site.  One of our members, sandblaster, has a site that specializes in used parts. He put this great interchanges list (and ones for other bikes) together.  The list says that they use a few different parts. Do you have the whole bottom end, or just the case?

You may be able to have the damaged case welded, can you post a pic of the damage?  Here is a guide to posting using Photobucket:

hey ther umberto....thanks for the links...ive looked at the parts swapping abilities on list...says that the my sparw case has an extra case bolt plus a larger shift fork pin. comparing both cases they are identical on the exterior....I'll be pulling engine and splitting cases hopefully in the am to take a looksee. As far as repairing thecurrent case....that'd be a NO go...lol...pretty harshed up. will post a pic soon. thanks again

pulled everything apart today...at this point, it looks as if everything is going to work...However, on the trans bearings that are held in by a keeper clip and  single screw....are they always a pain to get out? i tried to remove the ones on the broken case just to see how difficult. first one wasnt to bad but the others stripped. And i even used heat and a manual impact tool. Any suggestions
