09 KX450 troubles
Jscrambles:
I just purchased a worn out 450 about a month ago. The bike started cutting out when it got hot as I would hit the gas. It would idle fine. Had the top and bottom rebuilt by reputable company. Motor was shredded. Put motor back in bike and broke it in according to recommendations. Ran fine. Took bike to the mountains to ride and after about a hour the bike started doing the same thing,ie(cutting out on acceleration, backfiring, stalling,etc...) Still idles along fine. I'm at a loss.. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
sandblaster:
I would run the OHM specs on the stator and see where it is at.
If it tests ok then I would run the bike till it gets hot and starts to give you problems.
Then, before it cools off I would run the ohm specs again.
Jscrambles:
Thanks for the reply. Sounds like a good place to start. I will try that as soon as I get time and let you know what works out.
alward25:
Unplug the grey stator plug behind lh radiator, blow out with air and apply dielectric grease, normal problem. Start with that
sandblaster:
That's cheap and easy.
Hope it solves your problem.
